The Back-to-School Parent Pack is now available to complete online:

Completing the Parent Pack will earn you one raffle ticket (see Back-To-School Social below for more info). The first grade with 95% of the families completing the Parent Pack will win a popcorn party!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Starting this school year, the Northwood PTA ordered teacher-selected supply kits for all students. Supplies have been distributed to each classroom and are already in use by the kids.

If you didn't pre-order your student's school supplies kit, you can pay for it when completing the Parent Pack or through the PTA Store.

Join us for a special General Membership Meeting to hold discussion and vote on whether or not to oppose ballot initiatives IP26-645, IL26-001 and IL26-638.

RAFFLE DRAWING!

We'll be holding a raffle at the Back-To-School Social for a basket of local gift cards. You do not need to be present to win. 1 entry can be earned for each of the following:

• filling out the parent pack
• joining PTA
• making a Give a Hoot donation (of any amount)
• attending the first PTA General Meeting on Friday, September 4th, at 9:30 AM, in the Northwood Commons

If you signed in at the popsicle picnic you have already earned 1 entry.

A very big thank you to all who were able to join us for the Popsicle Picnic and coffee and donuts on the first day of school!

Join Friendship Circle of Washington for a free, family-friendly celebration of friendship, kindness, and inclusion! Walk, roll, or cheer alongside neighbors of all abilities on Sunday, October 18, from 1–4 p.m. at Mercerdale Park. 

Kids Corps is a student-led club at Mercer Island High School providing free tutoring for elementary schoolers. Kids Corps has been an active club since 2000, with over 230 pairings last school year!

MIHS high schoolers are paired with students from Mercer Island elementary schools to offer free once-a-week tutoring sessions in subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and ELL.

Sign-ups for the 2026-2027 school year are open!  

Visit our website for more information. Families can sign up for Kids Corps anytime during the school year, as elementary schoolers are matched with tutors on a rolling basis.
