Northwood Spotlight: Andrea Dunbar
1st Grade Teacher
What grade/area do you teach/support and how long have you been in education? I have been teaching since 1999. I started in the Edmonds School District where I worked for 13 years. Then I worked at St. Monica, and finally I landed in the Mercer Island School District. I have taught 1st through 6th grade and K-3 PE at Lakeridge. Currently I am teaching 1st grade at Northwood.
Where is your favorite place to vacation? I love Hawaii and I love travelling in Europe. I have been to Great Britain, France, Greece,
What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? I went skydiving! My son didn't believe me when I told him. I had to show him pictures!
Tell us about your immediate family and pets. I am married and we have 4 adult children! We also have 2 dogs. One is a Havanese and the other one is a Malshi.
What is your favorite band or artist to listen to? I love all types of music! One of my favorite bands is the Rolling Stones.
