Northwood Spotlight: Mallory Graham

Special Services Para

Where are you originally from and what brought you to Mercer Island schools?

I grew up on Mercer Island! I ended up moving back to this area 7 years after I graduated from MIHS and saw an opening in the district.

What grade/area do you teach/support and how long have you been in education?

This is my 4th year in education. I work as a special education para and have worked with a variety of grades, but currently work with K and 2nd graders.

What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

Going bridge jumping in college

What are some small things that make your day better?

Having a good conversation and laugh with someone, eating a good dessert, the sun, and when a student I am working with does something that makes me smile.

If you had the day to yourself, how would you spend it?

I would do something exciting, like exploring a new city or go somewhere new to hike.

Is there a skill you would like to master?

I want to master my baking skills, particularly with cakes and pastries.

Tell us about your immediate family and pets.

I have been married to my husband for five years now. We own a tortoise shell cat named Ellie that we adore. I am also the youngest of five kids.

If money were no object, what is something you would buy or somewhere you would go?

I would travel internationally, starting with Japan.
