Where are you originally from and what brought you to Mercer Island schools?

I am originally from Vancouver, Canada where I grew up. I went to college at University of Victoria, B.C .

What grade/area do you teach/support and how long have you been in education?

I currently teach 4th grade. I have taught 4th grade in Mercer Island for the last 13 years. I moved to NW from West Mercer. Previously, my husband and I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii where I taught at both public and private schools. This is my 26th year in education.

What is your favorite sport or hobby to do when you are not at school?

My favorite sport is skiing.

Where is your favorite place to vacation?

My favorite place to vacation is Hawaii

What are some small things that make your day better?

Some small things that make my day better are connecting with my family, colleagues and students. I enjoy making connections with my students each day.

Tell us about your immediate family and pets.

I have a son, Nick who is 31 and is in the music business in LA, my daughter, Michaela is 20 and is at UW in the business school and my son Jack is 15 and is in 10th grade at MIHS. My husband, George is from Hawaii and we live in Snoqualmie with our 5 cats.
