Special Education Teacher
What grade/area do you teach/support and how long have you been in education?
I teach elementary special education and am serving Kindergarteners and First Graders this year. I have been in education for 6 years. In the spring of 2017, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Elementary & Special Education with a Certificate in Leadership. After that, I moved abroad to Thailand and taught English for a year. In 2018, I started teaching special education at Island Park Elementary and this fall I will be joining the Northwood community!
What is your favorite sport or hobby to do when you are not at school?
My favorite hobby while not at school is gardening. I like to take care of my indoor plants but also grow vegetables outdoors.
What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
The most adventurous thing I have ever done is go scuba diving with white tip reef sharks.
What are some small things that make your day better?
A good amount of sleep, sunshine and a warm cup of coffee make my day better.
Is there a skill you would like to master?
I would like to master sewing. I started to learn to sew this summer and want to continue working on my skills.
