Speech & Language Pathologist

 

 

Where are you originally from and what brought you to Mercer Island schools?

I am from Edmonds Wa. I was a contract worker for the school district 16 years ago and loved the experience so I applied for the job and was hired. 

 

What grade/area do you teach/support and how long have you been in education?

As a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) I currently support students from Preschool through 5th grade. I have worked at all grade levels throughout my years working for the district from preschool to adults. In our area of speciality we work with a very wide range of students supporting them in the areas of language (receptive, expressive and pragmatics/social),  articulation, voice, and fluency. I have been in education for 35 plus years. 

 

 

Tell us about your immediate family and pets.

We have 3 grown girls (32, 30 and 24) and one grandchild, 19 months. Best part of life is being a grandparent!! We have a little dog named Bodhi.

 

What is your favorite band or artist to listen to?

Talking Heads

 

If money were no object, what is something you would buy or somewhere you would go?

Retire and take care of my grandbaby!!!!!

 

What is something you’ve been meaning to try, but haven’t gotten around to it?

Planting a garden.
